History of MMWC
So, you wanna know everything about us? Then read this... It will explain everything from the beginning, to the future...
One day, on a field trip to knotts berry farm in 6th grade, it was almost summer time. Jimmy talked to me about some funny Comix on Mario he saw, from a link from TMK. The site was called Mario Comics by a guy named Dorian Blacquere. He told me about his comics, and how funny they were. Then day, Jimmy came over and told and showed me the site. It was funny! Right then and there Jimmy and I wanted so badly to make a site just like his! So I learned how to make comix, which I originally created on Adobe, and did a long process of saving JPG's by putting them on Microsoft word and all this weird stuff. So I finished my first comic, "Got Evil Robotic Clone" but I wanted to put it on the intenet! So at first I was using Web Page Wizard to make my pages, but it stunk hard. REAL hard. They layout was good, but I didn't know how to link to other pages. So I gave up for a little while, then, one day, I went to angelfire.com and they had a little ad that said, "Build your own homepage" since I was new, I asked my dad if I can have my own website and he said, "As long as know one hacks our computer, and you don't give out too much information about yourself" So I registered and then tried to to build a page but couldn't. I didn't know what to do. I wasn't familiar with GIF's and JPG formats and such. So I left it there for about a week, studied some basic HTML, and then, on October 6, my first webpage was up! It was part 1 to "Got Evil Robotic Clone". I could remeber how excited I was and how cool it was that knowing somewhere in cyberspace, I had a webpage of my own. So then, October 7, I created the main page, some links to some other page of Chapter Comix, part 1 of Got Evil Robotic Clone, and that was it. The next day, I put up Short Comix, and part 1 of Big Battle for the Universe, and part 3 of Got Evil Robotic Clone, and accidently skipping part 2. So the next day, I put up all of my comix, and all of Kyles in the same day. That was when I learned that you could put JPG Files on the Internet. So I had two full comix up, and 1 short comic. It took at least a month to put up Jimmy's first chapter of a comic he was working on called High Noon at Castle Koopa, but the files were to big to put up on the internet and the browser didn't support the file type. he had so much done, but gave up on it and put up Super Mario Bros. The True Story, both part 1 and 2. but let's back up a bit. I remeber having so much layout ideas. But some were too advanced for me to do at the time. So that is why, in the beginning, I had multiple enterances. This made the site very complicated. Then, I had so many good Ideas for sections. I wanted this site to be BIG! I wanted to have the funniest comix, alot of things so viewers wouldn't get bored. So all these sections came about. Then, one day, I was looking at Html Goodies and saw much stuff I can do with this site. so then I learned some Really advanced stuff. So, when Zappo temporarley left Mario comix, and I was in charge, I experimented with the site. I made rounded corners for tables, changing colors of links when your mouse went over it, some cool tables and update methods. I learned to make 3-d text. I could change colors of polls or tables and make them go with my color scheme for the site. Yes, when I learned this, I wanted to do this to MMWC. but I had so much files, I didn't want to spend the time. So I started all over on Tripod. I wanted to have an original site, not like I did at Mario comix, so it now looks like this. I was pretty happy, but it didn't satisfy me. Now, I wanna learn php, and make a gaming site which will host this site (maybe). I want a site like Super Mario 128 Centeral and have staff members submit stuff that goes directly to the main page with out having to login to the webserver, and it automatically creates pages and tables without me having to spend 10 minutes to make it. it does it instantly. This is my goal, and also, I can have a comic submitter, where you guys can put up your own comix, and I don't have to update it and put it up manually, it goes to a page automatically and it's own address and appears automatically in viewcomix. This, indeed is my dream. To have, people vote on comix and review them automatically, for people to interact, to have so many comix, and it will be updated more than once daily with an extreme amount of comix, very plentiful comix, you can never get board. for people to win prizes and people to enjoy alot. With that, it will make this the greatest comix site ever, hands down. And that day is not too far away... ;)
